It is being wound down. New signups and free-to-paid upgrades were switched off on 16 July 2026, and all accounts and data are scheduled for permanent deletion during a wind-down window that closes in September 2026.

Status: SHUTTING DOWN. New signups and free-to-paid upgrades were disabled on 16 July 2026. The vendor's announcement page states free accounts and all associated data are permanently deleted after 15 August 2026 23:59 PT, and paid accounts after 14 September 2026 23:59 PT. The vendor's own docs site states these the other way round (paying until 15 August, free until 14 September) - the two official sources contradict each other, so treat the earlier date as operative and confirm with the vendor. Existing customers were refunded prorated annual balances and given extra steps and AI credits for the transition. Data exports are available now; anything not exported is deleted.

Core capabilities

Vendor's own claim
  • Triggers: app events, webhook, mailhook, manual, scheduled, batch and RSS
  • AI steps including image generation, web search and research, audio transcription, and a knowledge base
  • Human-in-the-loop AI reviews - a person approves or edits before the workflow continues
  • Agentic tool use and MCP server support
  • Flow control: paths, looping/iterators, wait steps and sequences
  • Tables for storing workspace data, and run history for inspecting executions
  • A published app-integration catalogue with per-app trigger and action references

What is Relay.app

Vendor's own claim

A workflow automation tool in the Zapier and Make category, differentiated while it operated by putting AI steps and explicit human approval points inside the flow rather than treating automation as fully unattended. That distinction is now historical. The vendor's own docs name Zapier, Make and n8n as the migration destinations for repeated workflows, and suggest handing the exported workflow.json and prompt.md files to an AI assistant for one-off automations.

Ideal customer profile

From official docs

No longer applicable - the product is not available to new users. Signups and free-to-paid upgrades were disabled on 16 July 2026.

Who should look elsewhere

Our read

Everyone, as a new purchase - you cannot buy it. New signups and upgrades are off, and the vendor has committed to permanently deleting all accounts and associated data at the end of the wind-down window. Existing users should be exporting rather than building: workflows, sequences and MCP servers export as JSON with AI prompts, run history exports, and tables export as CSV. Anything not exported before the deadline is deleted, and app credentials and tokens are deleted with the workspace.

Tools in the same layer

Our read

No curated rival set covers this tool yet, so these are simply other tools in the same architectural layer and product form. Treat it as a starting point, not a shortlist.

Relay.app FAQ

When exactly does my account get deleted?

The vendor publishes two contradictory versions of this. The docs site reverses the two, saying paying customers have access until 15 August and free users until 14 September. Do not rely on either date without confirming directly with the vendor; the earlier of the two applies to you if you are unsure.

From official docs
What happens to my subscription and can I get money back?

Annual customers are told a prorated refund for the unused remainder of the billing period is initiated automatically and should arrive within 5 business days.

From official docs
What can I export, and in what format?

Workflows, sequences and MCP servers as JSON along with AI prompts, run history, and tables as CSV. The vendor describes these exports as designed so the important parts of a workspace can be rebuilt elsewhere.

From official docs
Where does the vendor suggest I move to?

For one-off automations it suggests handing the exported workflow.json and prompt.md files to a general AI assistant.

From official docs
Do my workflows keep running until the deadline?

Yes, per the announcement: everything already in use continues working through the wind-down window, and workflows keep running. Paying workspaces were additionally given 25,000 extra steps and 10,000 extra AI credits per month for 60 days, free, to ease the transition.

From official docs
What happened to my connected app credentials?

The docs state the workspace, user account, and app credentials and tokens are all automatically deleted at the end of the shutdown period. You can also delete the workspace and account manually at any point before that from the settings page.

Verify before you buy

  • Any historical pricing - the pricing page was already gone when we checked, so we have no plan names or figures
  • Which of the two contradictory shutdown-date orderings (announcement page vs docs site) is correct
  • Published pricing was not available in the reviewed source set; confirm current commercial terms with the vendor.

Need help setting it up?

This page tells you whether Relay.app fits. Cheetah builds and runs the system it goes into — enrichment, sequencing, CRM and the joins between them.
